ITP91 was deployed on a 1.10 m thick ice floe in the Transpolar Drift on September 5, 2015 in collaboration with the Nansen and Amundsen Basins Observational System (NABOS)<\/a> project from the Russian Research Vessel Treshnikov. On the same icefloe, an autonomous atmospheric chemistry buoy (O-Buoy) <\/a>, and surface drifter were also installed. The ITP operated on a standard sampling schedule of 2 one-way profiles between 7 and 760 m depth each day.<\/p>\r\n

The surface package with a few meters of wire rope still attached was recovered by Quark Expeditions on July 14, 2017 just off the north coast of Svalbard, Norway.<\/p>\r\n
