{"id":56,"date":"2018-07-05T11:20:47","date_gmt":"2018-07-05T15:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wpdev.whoi.edu\/lab-migration10\/?post_type=fl-builder-template&#038;p=56"},"modified":"2020-03-03T15:26:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T19:26:57","slug":"cruises","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ladder\/cruises\/","title":{"rendered":"Cruises"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t<h1>Cruises<\/h1>\n<p>We embarked on three major cruises to the East Pacific rise as part of the LADDER project.\u00a0 Each expedition was aboard the R\/V Atlantis, and used the deep submersible Alvin, as well as a variety of other seagoing instruments.\u00a0 On the LADDER-1 cruise, led by Chief Scientist Andreas Thurnherr, we deployed an extensive array of moorings with current meters and sediment traps, and initiated a tracer-release experiment.\u00a0 On LADDER-2 (Ch. Sci. Jim Ledwell), we surveyed the water column to track the tracer and recovered a bottom mounted acoustic Doppler current meter.\u00a0 On LADDER-3 (Ch. Sci.
