{"id":966,"date":"2026-02-25T10:35:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/lindell-lab\/?page_id=966"},"modified":"2026-02-25T10:35:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-25T14:35:00","slug":"kelp-hash-browns","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/lindell-lab\/kelp-hash-browns\/","title":{"rendered":"Kelp Hash Browns"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><b>Kelp Hash Browns<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em>From Liz Companion (WHOI)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 potatoes<\/p>\n<p>\u00bd sweet onion<\/p>\n<p>Olive oil<\/p>\n<p>Large handful of dried kelp<\/p>\n<p>Slosh of soy sauce (to taste)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Place kelp in a bowl and cover with fresh water to rehydrate.<\/li>\n<li>Chop onion and potatoes into bite sized pieces and put them in a pan with olive oil on medium-high heat.<\/li>\n<li>Gently squeeze seaweed to remove excess water and add to the pan.\u00a0 Add soy sauce and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Cook covered for approximately 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
