The logo came from the Dunkleosteus Prehistoric fish.
It was selected from an online contest of over 100 entries we put out to designers on the World Wide Web
This is a 2 part answer,
1) Yes An operator can come into the shop once they have a current paid membership and can utilize the equipment once the operator has completed a walkthrough on the basics of the machine they will be working on.
2) There are 3 Class 3 machines in the DunkWorks Shop , Manual Lathe, Manual Milling machine and the Hurco 3 axis milling machine center, on these machines you need to be specially trained by the DunkWorks Coach to operate. Once trained and its felt that the operator does not need supervision while running the machine, the operator will be checked off and be able to use the machines at their own discretion
Members have access to the space, and all the equipment as long as the Coach is present and have completed their safety and the specific equipment training, if the coach is not present the Class 3 machines are locked out and tagged out.
Yes, Each 3D printer has an individual cost associated per material. You can locate the costs on the DunkWork's membership page.
DunkWorks employs a full-time Coach to benefit the member. The Coach is available to guide you through the equipment, keep the machines in good working order, and manage the flow of work through the facility.
The Coach is available to orient you to specific machines or techniques after you have completed the safety training and taken an equipment training workshop. Available workshop dates can be found on the DunkWorks Calendar.
DunkWorks is open 8 am - 430 pm, Monday through Friday. Users with special safety and equipment training are granted after-hours access. The Class 3 equipment is locked and tagged out and can only be utilized when the Coach is present.
