We focus on two main systems, penguins and large whales, mostly somewhere on the southern hemisphere. We try to find general rules which govern motion of animals, groups of animals, or even populations and infer ecosystem health from measured collective behavior parameters. The topic of our work is reflected in the groups interdisciplinary composition where we are, biologists, engineers and physicists.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/mars\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/147\/2018\/07\/collective_beh.pdf.png\" alt=\"collective_beh.pdf\" height=\"1328\" width=\"1600\" title=\"collective_beh.pdf\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/mars\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/147\/2021\/12\/20211213-_DSC3838.jpg\" alt=\"20211213-_DSC3838\" height=\"1267\" width=\"1900\" title=\"20211213-_DSC3838\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/mars\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/147\/2021\/12\/20211127-_DSC2448.jpg\" alt=\"20211127-_DSC2448\" height=\"1893\" width=\"1900\" title=\"20211127-_DSC2448\" \/>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Remote Controlled Penguin Observatories Spying on Emperor Penguins to understand their collective behavior.
