Inspired by environmental processes that challenge our current chemical knowledge, the Theoretical Chemistry and Isotope Biogeochemistry Group at WHOI is interested in advancing the frontiers of geoscience through studying non-traditional stable isotopes. Isotope effects are Nature’s guide to chemistry. The question is: how should we interpret them when there is no chemical framework?
