Ichiko <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/nirvana\/welcome-ichiko\/\">joined us in late 2022<\/a> to study microbial metal demand in the Eastern Tropical Pacific, working jointly with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whoi.edu\/profile\/msaito\/\">Mak Saito<\/a> and myself. She sailed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.7284\/910110\">AT50-10 <em>CliOMZ<\/em><\/a> expedition, where she conducted an impressive number of isotope tracer incubation experiments and produced some incredible data on metal uptake and dissolved trace metal distributions along the transect.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll be sharing some of those results later in 2025\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bco-dmo.org\/deployment\/916122\">stay tuned<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Ichiko is now heading to Canada to begin a postdoc in the <a href=\"https:\/\/earthsci.carleton.ca\/\">Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University<\/a> in Ottawa. While we\u2019re sad to see her go, we\u2019re excited to follow her next steps.
