{"id":534211,"date":"2023-05-03T10:27:27","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/?page_id=534211"},"modified":"2025-03-27T15:27:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T19:27:33","slug":"station-papa-10","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/station-papa-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Station Papa 10"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h1>Station Papa 10:<br \/>Spring Mission to Refresh Array<\/h1>\r\n<h2><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Recoveries and Deployments for Station Papa\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0and the University of Washington<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p>A team of ten scientists and engineers is aboard the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uaf.edu\/cfos\/sikuliaq\/about-rv-sikuliaq.php\">R\/V\u00a0<em>Sikuliaq<\/em><\/a><\/strong> for a 15-day expedition (May 13- June 1, 2023) to deploy three OOI moorings, and three gliders, two open ocean and the third a profiling glider. The team will also be deploying a waverider mooring for the University of Washington. Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution&#8217;s Kris Newhall is serving as Chief Scientist. Other onboard activities will include conducting water and other sampling while underway. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oceanobservatories.org\/array\/global-station-papa-array\/\">Global Station Papa Array <\/a><\/strong>is located in the Gulf of Alaska, about 620 nautical miles offshore. The ship will depart from and return to Seward, Alaska, with a transit time to the array of about 2.5 days.
