Irminger 11:
Tackling the Tough Northern Atlantic<\/h1>\r\n

Month-long Expedition to Refresh Irminger Sea Array<\/h2>\r\n

On June 2, 2024, a team of 15 scientists and engineers boarded the R\/V Neil Armstrong<\/em><\/a><\/strong> in Woods Hole, Massachusetts to begin an eight-day transit to the Irminger Sea Array.\u00a0 Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Sheri White is serving as Chief Scientist. Once onsite, the team will recover and deploy four moorings, deploy two gliders, recover a third, and conduct water sampling throughout the voyage.\u00a0 Water and biogeochemical sampling will also be conducted in support of ongoing research efforts of the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Project (OSNAP<\/a><\/strong>) and Boston College.\u00a0 A marine mammal observer from NOAA will also be onboard.\u00a0 On July 2, the team will offload the ship in Reykjavik, Iceland, then fly back to Woods Hole.
