This summer&#8217;s 32-day expedition (July 31-August 31) is especially exciting because we will be spending significant time directly viewing the highly active submarine volcano off our coast &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/interactiveoceans.washington.edu\/research-sites\/axial-caldera\/\">Axial Seamount<\/a>&#8216;, which erupted in 2015 and is poised to erupt\u00a0<em>anytime<\/em> between now and sometime in 2025.
