Thompson<\/em> arrived back in Newport to end Leg 2 around 12:30 local time. The team went into high gear to offload and reload the back deck for Leg 3, which heads back out on the 31<sup>st<\/sup>.\u00a0 The previous day was a busy one. \u00a0<em>Jason<\/em>\u00a0completed a Benthic Experiment Package swap at the Oregon Offshore site, then headed to the Southern Hydrate Ridge.\u00a0 There, the team successfully completed an \u00a0osmosampler\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/interactiveoceans.washington.edu\/glossary\/deployment\/\">deployment<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/interactiveoceans.washington.edu\/glossary\/site\/\">site<\/a>\u00a0survey, then headed back to port.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 29, 2023:\u00a0 The R\/V Thomas G.
