Big eye binoculars mounted on the bow of the ship, give him a great vantage point to scan the seas. His primary goal is to observe Right Whales, but he has been spotting a variety of marine life including Dolphins, Fin and Humpback whales, and sea birds such as Fulmars and Murres.
