After wrapping up a met survey at SUMO-11, the team returned to the glider box for a 1200-meter CTD cast with the BGC pH sensor. The timing allowed for a clean comparison with glider data collected after their initial dives to 1000 meters.

Next, the ship moved to HYPM-11, where acoustic comms confirmed the controller is active and the riser upright, with the float at 140–150 m depth. An EK-80 acoustic survey aimed to visualize the riser but mainly yielded comparative data for ZPLSG instruments in the sphere.

A major milestone was reached with the successful deployment of the SUMO-12 surface mooring. Starting early, the crew carefully moved through each step: deploying the buoy, riser components, and anchor over 8 hours without incident.

The ship then returned between moorings for a full-depth CTD cast and overnight met survey. A low-pressure system nearby may bring stronger winds tomorrow, so plans are in place for an early setup to recover HYPM-11, weather permitting.

The past two days aboard the R/V Roger Revelle have been productive.
