{"id":536492,"date":"2025-08-04T16:44:36","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T20:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/?p=536492"},"modified":"2025-08-26T16:56:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T20:56:44","slug":"life-aboard-the-irminger-12-cruise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/life-aboard-the-irminger-12-cruise\/","title":{"rendered":"Life Aboard the Irminger 12 Cruise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"438\">While the primary focus of the OOI Irminger 12 cruise is deploying and servicing moorings in the North Atlantic, life at sea involves much more than operations on deck.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"686\">When weather conditions temporarily halted work, members of the Coastal and Global Scale Nodes (CGSN) team made the most of their downtime \u2014 gathering around the <em data-start=\"602\" data-end=\"618\">New York Times<\/em> crossword puzzle for a change of pace and a bit of mental exercise.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"956\">The cruise also supported other scientific efforts.
