Over the first two days, the team completed mobilization, testing, and initial deployments, marking a smooth start to the expedition.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"451\" data-end=\"465\">Highlights<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"468\" data-end=\"566\">Mobilization at Newport and loading of critical equipment, including the Heavy Lift Winch (HLW).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"569\" data-end=\"634\">Successful water-bag tests of the HLW and Hawboldt winches.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"710\">Departure from Newport on Tuesday, following new pilotage requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"814\">Deployment of glider 1153 near the Oregon Shelf mooring, followed by a validation CTD cast.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"921\">Inspection and repair of the Oregon Shelf mooring\u2019s METBK wind sensor, ensuring continued data return.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"982\">Transit northward toward the Washington Offshore site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"998\">Conditions<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1125\">Oregon Shelf (Tuesday): Light easterly winds shifting south-southwest, sunny skies, and mixed swell (W 5 ft, SW 1 ft).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1254\">Washington Offshore (Wednesday): Winds increasing from the south to north-northwest, 5\u20137 ft seas, partly sunny conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1413\">With equipment tested, a glider deployed, and key repairs completed, the science team is now en route to Washington waters to continue recovery operations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fall 2025 Coastal Endurance Array Recovery Cruise (SR2520) is underway.
