{"id":536830,"date":"2025-11-06T15:28:14","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T20:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/?p=536830"},"modified":"2025-11-07T15:31:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-07T20:31:44","slug":"shallow-water-mooring-capturing-data-near-the-surface","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/shallow-water-mooring-capturing-data-near-the-surface\/","title":{"rendered":"Shallow Water Mooring: Capturing Data Near the Surface"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"196\" data-end=\"426\">The Shallow Water Mooring was specifically designed for the Pioneer Mid-Atlantic Bight Array, enabling detailed sampling of the water column to within just a few meters of the ocean surface in depths of 20\u201330 meters.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"428\" data-end=\"751\">At the heart of this system is an autonomous profiling vehicle known as a Prawler.
