{"id":536999,"date":"2026-05-06T11:13:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T15:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/?p=536999"},"modified":"2026-05-08T12:18:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T16:18:40","slug":"northern-surface-mooring-repairs-extend-long-term-deployment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ooi-expedition\/northern-surface-mooring-repairs-extend-long-term-deployment\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Surface Mooring Repairs Extend Long-Term Deployment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">With support from the R\/V <em>Neil Armstrong<\/em> small boat team and favorable weather conditions, the OOI-CGSN team successfully completed critical repairs on the Northern Surface Mooring (NOSM), helping extend the operational life of this important observing platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">During the operation, damaged wind turbines on the buoy were replaced, restoring essential power-generating capabilities for the mooring system.
