New Paper Alert: “The Micropaleoecology Framework: Evaluating Biotic Responses to Global Change Through Paleoproxy, Microfossil, and Ecological Data Integration”
Check out new paper with PI Elizabeth Sibert, entitled “The Micropaleoecology Framework: Evaluating Biotic Responses to Global Change Through Paleoproxy, Microfossil, and Ecological Data Integration”. This perspective/review paper was written in collaboration with Adam Woodhouse, Anshuman Swain, Jansen Smith, Adriane Lam, Jennifer Dunne, and Alexandra Auderset, and explores the potential of the marine microfossil record to shed light on paleoecological and evolutionary changes through time. This was a really fun one to write and is a great example of bringing together interdisciplinary researchers to learn new things together!
Students and others just entering the world of micropaleontology or paleoceanography may especially appreciate Figure 2, which summarizes all of the different types of paleoenvironmental proxies that can be extracted from different microfossil resources, and the Supplementary Table S1 has seminal references for each proxy type.
