PaleoFISHES Lab at SICB 2025!

The PaleoFISHES Lab was well-represented at the 2025 Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology meeting this January, with presentations by Research Associate Molly Gabler-Smith, as well as undergraduates Arleth Martinez (who did her first ever conference poster presentation!) and Karinne Tennenbaum.

A special shout out to Karinne Tennenbaum, for being awarded the SICB Division of Vertebrate Morphology D. Dwight Davis Award for Best student talk, for her presentation entitled “Microfossil spiraling teeth reveal Paleocene origin of cyclothone (bristlemouths)”. This project began several years ago when Karinne was a freshman undergraduate student at Yale working with Elizabeth, and has grown into an excellent piece of work alongside efforts from colleagues Karly Cohen and Immanuel Chas Bissell.
