GRADUATE STUDENT

Interests: large-scale circulation, ocean-atmosphere interaction, community impact

Catherine is a graduate student in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program. She was first introduced to WHOI as a Summer Student Fellow in 2023, where she examined the changing seasonality of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). In 2024, she graduated from Yale University with a degree in Physics and Geosciences and an Education Studies Certificate. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the evolution of the Canada Basin Bottom Water. Now back at WHOI, she will be continuing her exploration of the AMOC and its components. In addition to research, Catherine finds great joy in drawing, playing piano, teaching, and exploring libraries.
