Kelly McKeon is a graduate student in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program. She graduated from Northeastern University in 2017, majoring in environmental science with a concentration in surficial processes and a minor in marine biology. After working as a research assistant at WHOI, Kelly obtained her master's degree in geosciences at UMass Amherst, where her research focused on tidal wetland morphology and resilience. In 2021 she returned to WHOI as a graduate student, where she will continue to study coastal hazards. Her research interests include extreme events such as floods, storms, and tidal extremes. Outside of research, Kelly enjoys volunteering at the New England Aquarium and participating in science outreach events.
