Postdoctoral scholars receive a competitive stipend and research budget, plus relocation and health and welfare allowances. Applications are due in the Fall.<\/li>\n<li>If you are interested in applying for a <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.nsf.gov\/funding\/opportunities\/ear-postdoctoral-fellowships-ear-pf\">National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship<\/a> to come work at WHOI, please reach out for guidance (across@whoi.edu).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ridl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/116\/2016\/09\/graphics-M_Saito_Antarctica-_DSC6928.jpg\" alt=\"graphics-m_saito_antarctica-_dsc6928\" height=\"1000\" width=\"1500\" title=\"graphics-m_saito_antarctica-_dsc6928\" \/>\n<h4>\n\t\tGraduate students\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<ul>\n<li>WHOI runs a five-year PhD program with MIT. The <a href=\"https:\/\/mit.whoi.edu\/\">MIT-WHOI Joint Program<\/a> is organized into five sub-disciplinary areas: Applied Ocean Science and Engineering, Biological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Marine Geology and Geophysics, and Physical Oceanography. Joint Program students receive five years of tuition and stipend support, plus funds for attending scientific meetings, conferences, and special courses and to support research activities. Housing at WHOI and MIT is provided for qualified students, and transportation between the two campuses runs weekly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/site\/ridl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/116\/2016\/09\/IMG_0381.jpg\" alt=\"img_0381\" height=\"1000\" width=\"1500\" title=\"img_0381\" \/>\n<h4>\n\t\tUndergraduate research assistants\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<ul>\n<li>WHOI offers paid undergraduate research opportunities through the WHOI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whoi.edu\/what-we-do\/educate\/undergraduate-programs\/summer-student-fellowship\/\">Summer Student Fellowship<\/a> program-an immersive, 12-week experience involving hands-on research, lectures, and a one-day research cruise.
