Infographics on Marine Research Benefits: What is the value of HAB Forecast?

The study estimated the economic benefits of the PNW HAB Bulletin. We find that the publication of the Bulletin has led to better-informed decision-making and choices of management actions, which in turn have advanced public health goals and have improved economic conditions in coastal communities. The value of HAB predictions is realized through behavioral changes resulting from alternative decisions in response to a forecast of sufficient accuracy.
