{"id":255,"date":"2018-09-21T14:41:13","date_gmt":"2018-09-21T18:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/staff\/sbeaulieu\/?p=255"},"modified":"2019-08-06T08:48:08","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T12:48:08","slug":"whoi-doherty-chair-in-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www2.whoi.edu\/staff\/sbeaulieu\/whoi-doherty-chair-in-education\/","title":{"rendered":"WHOI Doherty Chair in Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just received the fabulous news that I was awarded a WHOI Doherty Chair in Education for &#8220;Navigating an Ocean of Data: Curriculum Development and Implementation for WHOI\u2019s Academic Programs.&#8221; The three types of learning opportunities that I will offer in collaboration with WHOI\u2019s Data Library, IS Applications Development team, and BCO-DMO are: 1) an 8-hr training camp for best practices in data and software management that includes domain-specific practices and exposure to WHOI\u2019s institutional resources; 2) a 4-part hands-on\/seminar series focusing on a subset of the training camp topics; and 3) two Software Carpentry and\/or Data Carpentry Workshops as part of WHOI\u2019s membership in The Carpentries.
