Undergraduate Opportunities

Summer Student Fellowship
The objective of this program is to provide a promising group of science and engineering Junior year undergraduate students early experience in oceanographic and ocean engineering research that will assist them in their career choices.

Woods Hole PEP
The Woods Hole Partnership Education Program (PEP) is an intern program designed to promote diversity in the Woods Hole science community.  College students majoring in the natural sciences, engineering or mathematics, may apply to spend a summer gaining practical experience in marine and environmental science.

Graduate Programs

Degree Progam: MIT/WHOI Joint Program
In 1968 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) entered into an agreement to conduct a cooperative academic program leading to graduate degrees in oceanography and in oceanographic engineering. Joint degrees are single documents awarded by both institutions.

Postdoctoral Studies

Scholarship Awards
Eighteen-month Postdoctoral Scholar awards are offered to recipients of new or recent doctorates in the fields of chemistry, engineering, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics, and biology as well as oceanography.
