Papa 12 Cruise Underway from Seward, AK
The Papa 12 cruise officially completed mobilization in Seward, Alaska on May 18th aboard the R/V Sikuliaq. The vessel is now heading to the Station Papa site in the Gulf of Alaska, fully loaded with a range of oceanographic equipment to support continued long-term monitoring at the site.
Onboard gear includes:

Three OOI subsurface moorings

Two OOI gliders

One NOAA-PMEL surface mooring

One UW-APL Waverider mooring
Over the next few weeks, the team will carry out a full set of operations at the Papa array. These include deploying new instruments, recovering equipment that has been in the water for approximately one year, and conducting water sampling to support a variety of science objectives.
