Research Interests
I am a seismo-acoustic (SA) researcher working on the coupling of seismic and acoustic waves between the solid Earth, ocean, and atmosphere. My research focuses on utilizing SA observations to detect and characterize its sources and study the properties of the different media. For that, I use analytic and numerical methods, measurement campaigns to collect data, and various signal-processing techniques. Before starting at WHOI, my research focused on atmospheric infrasound (0.01-20 Hz sound waves). Specifically, I worked on SA coupling between the solid Earth and the atmosphere, source characteristics, as well as using infrasound data to study short temporal variability of the dynamic atmosphere. I joined WHOI, intending to expand my knowledge and experience in ocean- and environmental-related studies, and my current research focuses on 3D spatio-temporal acoustic source localization, climatic effects on the global SA ambient wavefield, SA monitoring of offshore wind turbines, and SA coupling on Venus and acoustic propagation through its supercritical atmosphere (pressure and temperature above the critical point).
