Justice through Equity and Diversity through Inclusion (JEDI)
I help lead a student-run reading and discussion group in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program. We meet monthly to address issues of justice, diversity, and inclusion in science, academia, and society, and compile action items at local, institutional, and national levels.
MIT Resources for Easing Friction and Stress (REFS)
I am trained as a confidential peer mentor for graduate students experiencing conflict or anxiety. Services include one-on-one meetings, group de-stressing activities, referring to appropriate MIT and WHOI resources, and acting as third-party mediators.
Zephyr Marine Education
I volunteered with Zephyr Education Foundation, which ran an education center in Woods Hole Village. This foundation brought children from inner-city schools out on the ocean to learn about oceanographic science and marine life.
