Projects
My research study sites range from remote mountainous regions in Antarctica to agricultural areas in the mid-latitudes. I have ongoing projects in the Arctic, Antarctic, and in Columbus, OH. Check out my research below!
Project overviews
Research area #1: Arctic ice
My postdoctoral research is focused on the study of sea ice and Greenland ice to understand nutrient dynamics in ice. This work is ongoing.
Research area #3: Urban geochemistry
In addition to my work in the cryosphere, I have research projects in urban areas to study how humans alter and are influenced by natural systems. This work is ongoing.
Research area #2: Transantarctic Mountains
My dissertation research was focused on soils from the Central Transantarctic Mountains to study geochemical cycling and salt/nutrient distribution in hyper-arid soils. This work is ongoing.
Research area #4: Aeolian processes
My master's work was focused on the geochemistry of wind-blown materials in the McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica. Aeolian processes play an important role in the distribution of nutrients in resource limited systems. I am expanding this work.
