AGU update

Three members of the ELECCTRO lab traveled to San Fransisco this past December to present their research on the Gofar transform fault at the 2023 American Geophysical Union meeting. I guess you could say our lab members sure do Gofar!

Christine Chesley, our post-doc, had the opportunity to give a talk presenting her work on the controlled source electromagnetic data collected on the Gofar cruise last year.

Bailey Fluegel, a 2nd-year Ph.D student, presented a poster detailing the results from the Vulcan data that was also collected on the Gofar cruise. The Vulcan receiver is a towed receiver that is more sensitive to shallow ocean sediments.

Natalie Hummel excitedly explains the MT results shown in her poster

Natalie Hummel, who is also a 2nd-year Ph.D student, was able to showcase her research on the Magnetotelluric potion of the Gofar project. Natalie aims to understand the deep structure of the transform fault.
