Overview

The Mooring Lab (Mooring Operations and Field Support Group) at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution provides a full range of mooring fabrication services.  Collectively, this team brings more than 50 years of experience to the oceanographic community worldwide.

The broad range of services offered by the Mooring Lab includes surface and subsurface mooring fabrications (see Capability), as well as a large inventory of resources for loan, including mooring winches, air tuggers, and many other mooring related items (see Equipment Available for Loan).  Refer to the Request for Mooring Budget page to learn about budgeting and planning for Mooring Operations support.  Since this group services a large scientific population, advance planning is critical to ensure that everyone's needs can be met in a timely manner.
