Amy Apprill
My research addresses questions that focus on the contribution of Bacteria and Archaea to the health and ecology of marine animals. I am also interested in how animal-associated microbes reflect alterations in their surrounding marine environment due to climate change and other anthropogenic-related impacts. My current research uses traditional microbiology, microbial oceanographic, genomic, metagenomic and bioinformatic tools to examine the microbiomes of reef-building corals, fish and marine mammals.
