ORGANIC CARBON (READY TO BURN) BY ONLINE ELEMENTAL ANALYZER (EA)-AMS

Minimum batch size is 20 samples. Samples should yield 100-300 μg C so accurate sample masses and %OC should be provided. Samples need to be weighed out into tin cups (such as 5x9 mm tin capsules, code #041077 from Costech or similar). Any washing or pre-treatment of the samples should be done before submitting. If pre-treated with acid and/or base, samples should be completely neutralized and dried before weighing them into the tin cups. We recommend submitting a few empty tins as well so that we can quantify the amount of blank carbon in them on the EA (at no charge).

CARBONATE MINERALS BY ONLINE CARBONATE HANDLING SYSTEM (CHS)-AMS

Minimum batch size is 20 samples. Samples should yield 100-300 μg C (typically ~1-3 mg of CaCO₃). Samples need to be weighed out and submitted in special Exetainer vials that we can provide. Any washing or pre-treatment of the samples should be done before putting them in the vials. We are not able to measure δ¹³C by IRMS for samples analyzed using CHS-AMS.
