Marking First Deployment
Exactly nine years ago, 21 Nov 2013, at 1:16 pm the Pioneer 1 team completed the deployment of the very first Pioneer Array mooring,CP01CNSM-0001.The Pioneer 19 team aboard the R/V Neil Armstrong marked the occasion on November 21, 2022 at 1:16 pm. The Pioneer 19 Team is completing the recovery of the Coastal Pioneer Array for its redeployment in the Southern Mid-Atlantic Bight in the spring 2024.
During the first leg of Pioneer 19 cruise, the team recovered the last surface mooring from the central site, CP01CNSM-00016. This occasion was marked with a photograph of the Leg 2 science team taken in between ROV operations picking up the last two anchors at the Pioneer New England Shelf array.
