IRMINGER: While the OOI and OSNAP teams are busy with mooring operations, Pete Duley from NOAA is busy looking for marine mammals. Big eye binoculars mounted on the bow of the ship, give him a great vantage point to scan the seas. His primary goal is to observe Right Whales, but he has been spotting a variety of marine life including Dolphins, Fin and Humpback whales, and sea birds such as Fulmars and Murres. One day the team was lucky enough to be visited by a Blue Whale, which seemed to be checking the ship and its humans out as it swam around the ship.
