Irminger 12:
Tackling the Tough Northern Atlantic

Three Week Long Expedition to Refresh Irminger Sea Array

On July 18, 2025 a team of 13 scientists and engineers boarded the R/V Roger Revelle to begin an three-day transit to the Irminger Sea Array. Once onsite, the team will recover and deploy four moorings, deploy two gliders, and conduct water sampling throughout the voyage. Water and biogeochemical sampling will also be conducted in support of ongoing research efforts of the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Project (OSNAP) and Boston College. A marine mammal observer from NOAA will also be onboard.
