Oregon Shelf Deployments and Surveys
The Spring 2025 Coastal Endurance Turn Cruise (SR2511) is now in its third and final leg, with operations resuming after departure from Newport, Oregon.
The team aboard the R/V Sally Ride successfully deployed the Oregon Shelf Surface Mooring (CE02SHSM-00020) and the Oregon Shelf Surface Piercing Profiler (CE02SHSP-00039)—key components for monitoring coastal ocean conditions.
Additional activities included a test deployment of the WireWalker profiler and an EK80 bioacoustic survey around the Oregon Shelf mooring site to support ecosystem monitoring.

Ship track from the day’s operations, showing the westward paths taken for the CE02SHSM and CE02SHSP mooring deployments. After reaching the deployment sites near the RCA infrastructure, the vessel carefully altered course to avoid the area following each mooring placement.
