IRMINGER: Chief Mate Chris Manka showed Boston College student, Ayden Schirmacher, how to don an immersion suit (commonly called a “Gumby” suit) designed to keep you warm and afloat if you have to abandon ship.

The first order of business at sea is conducting safety briefings and drills.  Chief Mate Chris Manka shows the team the emergency radio beacons that we will take with us if we have to abandon ship.
