The Fall 2025 Coastal Endurance Array Recovery Cruise (SR2520) continued with the successful recovery of the Washington Offshore Surface Mooring (CE09OSSM-0020) and its anchor, along with a pre-recovery CTD survey. Calm weather and careful deck operations allowed the team to complete a complex set of recoveries and prepare for upcoming work at the Washington Shelf site.
Highlights
- Conducted pre-recovery CTD casts for CE09OSSM and CE09OSPM.
- Recovered CE09OSSM-0020 buoy, NSIF, MFN, riser cable, and HIBs.
- Retrieved the CE09OSSM-0020 anchor.
- Reorganized the deck in preparation for Washington Shelf mooring recovery.
Conditions
- Washington Offshore (Wednesday): Southerly winds 6–11 kt shifting north-northwest 13–18 kt in the afternoon, partly sunny, seas building from 5 ft to 8 ft.
- Washington Shelf (Thursday): North-northwest winds 15–17 kt, sunny, seas near 8 ft.
With the Washington Offshore mooring and anchor now safely recovered, the science team has a clear deck and is ready to begin operations at the Washington Shelf site.
