Fall Expedition to the Coastal Endurance Array

The Fall 2025 cruise marks the 23rd biannual recovery expedition to the Coastal Endurance Array (EA), a critical observing system off the coasts of Oregon and Washington. On September 16, 2025, a team of scientists and engineers from Oregon State University (OSU) boarded the R/V Sally Ride in Newport, Oregon, setting out on a 12-day mission to recover key oceanographic infrastructure.

Location

The Coastal Endurance Array is located in the northeast Pacific off the coasts of Oregon and Washington and consists of two cross-shelf moored array lines.

Ship

The R/V Sally Ride is an Ocean Class Auxiliary General Oceanographic Research (AGOR) vessel designed to perform multidisciplinary oceanographic research worldwide.
