Barrow - Franz Josef Land Transect
Group Data Request
Coordinator: Mark Johnson
Acoustic signals can be used to detect variations in sound speed and thus of ocean temperature. Currently, observations of sound speed are being made in the Arctic Ocean (see here for a more complete description). For comparison with these observations, the following model output from the AOMIP groups is requested:
- Vertical section of potential (?) temperature and salinity between Barrow, Alaska, and Franz Josef Land.
- Temporal sampling is monthly (or better) throughout a model run.
