ITP 67 Recovery Operations

Over 3 years after being deployed in the Makarov Basin in 2013, ITP67 was recovered during the JOIS/BGOS 2016 cruise in the Canada Basin. The recovery was conducted using the ship's A-frame to haul out the instrumentation in thin ice conditions. While it was hoped that profiler data that was not transmitted could be recovered, unfortunately, the profiler apparently dragged on the bottom and was torn from the tether.

More information and photos on the recovery operations are also available at: https://archives.whoi.edu/beaufortgyre/www.whoi.edu/page.do@pid=155116.html.
