ITP81 was deployed on a 1.6 m thick icefloe in the north Beaufort Gyre on August 18, 2014 from the R/V Xuelong (Snow Dragon) as part of the CHINARE 2014 Expedition. The ITP is operated on a standard sampling schedule of 2 one-way profiles between 7 and 760 m depth each day.
