ITP 70 Deployment operations

The second and largest Ice-Based Observatory (IBO) deployed during JOIS 2013, included ITP 70 with a MAVs prototype current probe. In addition, five other buoys were deployed on the same floe while other scientists obtained detailed ice surveys, core samples, and made other measurements providing a detailed description of the initial conditions at the site. Due to weather, helicopter maintenance, and the total number of systems, the operations took nearly 12 hours to complete.
